Congratulations, Riverbank Church, on your support of a completed church plant in Guatemala! Thanks to your gifts and prayers, Bethania Christian Family Church is finished with construction and ready to serve its community. In this final construction update, you’ll see that not only is the building ready, but this process has brought unity to the church. May God bless you as you have blessed this generation and many more to come!
Construction Progress
The construction of the church, classrooms, kitchen, bathrooms and administrative office is 100% complete.
Church Activities
Currently, 35 adults and 15 children attend the church regularly.
The community came together to perform unskilled labor, and mothers of beneficiary children were involved in the general cleaning of the facilities.
Challenges Encountered
Fulfilling the requirements established with the assigned budget was a task that demanded commitment and a lot of administrative control, so as not to overload the budget. The construction committee is grateful to God for having successfully completed the work.
Committee members also said that accepting the challenge of building was easy, but persevering was an arduous task that sharpened their character. After working together for 20 months, they proved that not only could they work together but now they are also closer friends than at the beginning. They are grateful for the opportunity to see God’s vision materialize on Earth.
Next Steps
Church leaders were beginning services at the completed church facility as they were preparing this report. They pray that God will provide them with clean water to supply all their basic needs.
Testimony of Impact
Seeing the building constructed was God’s answer to my husband’s ministry. For more than 20 years, he has worked in the community bringing the gospel of Jesus. There were many experiences, but I give glory to God that what we sowed with tears we now reap with smiles of victory. I am sure that, from heaven, he is happy to see the fruit of his work. Thanks to you for letting yourselves be used by God. I have the hope of seeing you again in the future.
