Riverbank Church, we are pleased to bring you a report from Bethania Christian Family Church, Chonimatux in the hills of Barrio Santa Ana, Momstenagno, Guatemala. The church congregation continues to grow and Pastor Jose Hernandez is actively cultivating prayer and discipleship groups among families in the community. In the past 60 days, there have been two new professions of faith in Jesus Christ! The concrete foundations of the church building are being poured and walls are going up. Every day the facility is getting closer to completion and this budding church gets closer to a permanent home!
Construction Progress
Since October, workers have made significant construction progress at the site. They built a foundation of waterproof concrete, cast concrete columns, and built the walls of the first room with cinderblocks.
Challenges Encountered
One of the challenges faced during construction was the lack of water. The solution to this problem has been to bring in water tanks to continue the work. Please pray that workers can dig a well and find water.
Next Steps
Workers will continue excavating and expand construction by building more concrete foundations, casting concrete columns, and building cinderblock walls. Later, workers will install the roof, the electrical system, the restrooms, and the kitchen.
Church Activities
Pastor Jose Hernandez has set up prayer times with families in the community and has started discipleship classes. Currently, 35 adults and 15 children attend the church, and in the last 60 days, there have been two new professions of faith!
Testimony of Impact
I am working with the young people in the community and serving in the discipleship classes. I also had the opportunity to be a tutor in the Compassion program. I am deeply grateful to God for this mission work. Since the construction started there has been an awakening in the church. Thank you for your contribution to reviving the flame of our fervor for God.

Praises and Prayer Requests
Your church plant thanks you for your generosity. They ask God that the promise that was written by Isaiah be fulfilled through your prayers and gifts: “Then your light will break forth like the dawn, and your healing will quickly appear; then your righteousness will go before you, and the glory of the Lord will be your rear guard (Isaiah 58:8).
Please continue to pray for justice and peace in Guatemala and salvation for the people. Continue to pray for the pastors of Bethania Christian Family Church, the families in the community, as well as the construction crew working on the church building.
