Thank you, Menlo Church, for your continued prayer and support for your current church plant, the Evangelical Church of Pilgrims of Perú – San Martin de Alao, in the El Dorado province, San Martin, Peru. As you will see in this latest field report, heavy rains continue to slow progress, but the church members remain determined to build their church – and are succeeding on every clear day!
Construction Progress
In May, 100% of the concrete foundation was filled, structural walls were completed, and 50% of the bricklaying was done.
In June, bricklaying reached 80%, concrete-column pouring reached 70%, and construction began on the tie beams.
Church Activities
Currently, 62 adults and 26 children attend the mother church regularly. Nine adults and seven children attend the daughter church.
In the past 60 days, two people made first-time professions of faith in Christ.
While the daughter-church building is under construction, the mother church continues to host church services, staff meetings, prayer time, and construction coordination meetings.
Challenges Encountered
Acquiring building material remains difficult because the district is far from supply stores, and access is limited. As noted in the previous report, heavy rains washed out roads. This continues to be a challenge.
Some of the photos below show how the construction site has also been affected because of the heavy and steady rain increase.
Next Steps
We will be working on finishing the bricklaying, concrete columns and tie beams.
Following those steps will be roof construction, plastering, and other finishing activities.
Testimony of Impact
As a member of the church plant, I send a fraternal and cordial greeting in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I also want to express my deep joy and gratefulness for all your great support because today you give us a great opportunity to reach the homes of our town.
In this way, we will reach them with the gospel of God and present the good news of salvation that our Lord Jesus Christ has for each one of us.
I am also very grateful for the great opportunity we have today to teach children with Christian principles and values so they may contribute to social welfare in the future. We will continue praying so you keep working and giving more opportunities to increase the kingdom of our God.
Praises and Prayer Requests
We are deeply grateful for the great support we are receiving to build the place where children will be able to learn and to be formed in Christian values. In this way, they will be good contributors to society and their families in the future. We will continue praying for your church so God may continue blessing your jobs and all you do.
We request prayer for:
- the parents and child beneficiaries of the program and the community.
- our spiritual and physical strength.
- God to work on the hearts of the parents and children of the program and community so they may accept Jesus Christ as their savior.
