Greetings, First Baptist Church! Thank you for your investment to launch a new church in Haiti. Currently, 47 adults and 80 children are active in the new church. Staff are working diligently to advance the construction project. This update contains the most recent construction details, testimonies from the community, and praises and prayer requests from the church.
Construction Progress
After pausing construction due to the global pandemic, contractors were able to resume working in August. Currently, workers are preparing the buildings for roof installations.
Next Steps
Construction workers plan to plaster all of the building walls, and install roofs on the church, classroom and restroom buildings.
Church Activities
Church staff have been working to raise the community awareness on the impacts of COVID-19. After the height of the pandemic calmed in Haiti, many community members relaxed their precautions. Staff members are encouraging individuals to wear masks and practice social distancing to protect the health and safety of their community.
Testimony from Margarette, a Church Member
“This church brings everyone the light of Jesus. The Word of God is being preached in a community where people used to practice witchcraft. Our children and youth will now have opportunities to learn more about Christ. May this light continue to shine in the community.”
Praises and Prayer Requests
Church staff report that they are praising God for the development of a new church in their community. They are grateful that God has protected them from the COVID-19 virus, and that in some areas of the world, the pandemic is slowing its spread. They ask that you please pray for the following:
- The holistic development of children so that they become responsible leaders in their community.
- Construction to be completed on time.
- Protection of Haitian children, parents and families against the COVID-19 virus.
- Discovery of a medicine to effectively treat COVID-19.
The church is praying for the health and safety of members of First Baptist Church. They are also praying that your ministry continues to flourish amidst the pandemic.
