We are grateful for your faithful support of Foursquare Church “Pan de Vida” Villa Cielo in Cordoba, Colombia. As they are nearing completion, excitement is growing in the community. We apologize for the delay in sending you this update due to conditions on the field, but we hope you are blessed in seeing their progress.
Construction Progress
Since the last report we have made the following advances:
- Multipurpose room: installed glass windows, interior and exterior plastering of the whole room and completed electrical installations.
- Bathrooms: tiling of 6 bathrooms and installed toilets.
- Kitchen: completed tiling, installed stainless steel counter, door, and electrical connections.
- Second floor: internal and external wall plastering of all the walls, installed fans in classrooms and modified classrooms as needed.
Child Development Activities
Children continue to attend the center on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. They have received medical checkups and there was an optometry exam for some of the children. All the children receive a snack at each meeting and a lunch once per month.
In May we celebrated children who had birthdays in the first part of the year. They were given a present, sweets, piñata and a cake. The children were excited to celebrate their birthday. We also celebrated Mother’s day with a dance, poetry reading, singing and a drama.
We continue to develop workshops with topics on Advocacy and parents continue to participate actively. The parents are interested in the church and some participate in the Sunday School, and have shown their support during the construction time of the new church. Currently, 45 adults and 100 children regularly attend services.
In the next 60 days, we are planning a bazaar. The church and some people will make a donation of prepared food and clothes in good condition to sell and raise funds to help complete painting and other small details needed to finish the building.
Testimony of Impact
There are no words to express how grateful we are with each of the people who contributed so that today this construction is a reality and above all, knowing that through it a large number of children and families have been impacted and those that will still be impacted see so great blessing; we have seen the hand of God work through you and we believe that this will not be without reward and that the Almighty God will surprise you in a supernatural way, thanks and infinite thanks for your heart so noble and dedicated to God.
Pastor Eugenio Ramos
Yenny Gómez Jiménez, mother of one registered child, says, “I am very happy thanks to this new program. My daughter likes to be in the church to hear the word of God. She likes all the activities they do, the refreshments they give, medical check-ups and gifts. I thank God for having a church with the best infrastructure and a new program where they benefit the children of this community.”
