Thank you, Columbia Community Church! Your gift to plant Iglesia del Nazareno in Guatemala is transforming the lives of 200 children and their families as they witness the love of God at work through the church. Church leaders share that because of this ministry, they see the kingdom of God expanding every day.
In the photo above, construction workers remove large rocks from the construction site. This report includes updates on construction, a testimony from a church leader and praises and prayer requests.
Construction Progress
Construction workers have leveled the floor and are building support columns in the church sanctuary. They are also adding floors in the classrooms.
Challenges and Opportunities
Large rocks in the soil must be removed from the construction site, a process that is labor intensive and time-consuming. The church is trusting God through this challenge and believes that they will still finish construction according to schedule.
Next Steps
In the next 60 days, the church will:
- Begin construction of the kitchen.
- Add floors in the classroom hallways.
Church Activities
Currently, there are 65 adults and 45 children who regularly attend Iglesia del Nazareno. The church rejoices that in the past 60 days, one person has professed faith in Jesus. Caregivers and members of the congregation are volunteering their time and energy and giving financially to help support the construction team.
A Testimony From a Church Leader
“We have witnessed God at work in the lives of church members. We have seen caregivers give generously of their time and resources. We thank the donors who are helping us share the gospel with our community in Guatemala! It is satisfying to see how overjoyed the children and families are when we deliver nutritious food packs, hygiene kits and other materials. Children are also being seen by doctors for checkups. All of this encourages us to keep serving Jesus through this ministry. May God bless you!”
Praises and Prayer Requests
The church asks that you pray for more people to accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior. They praise God for you, your prayers and the interest you have shown in their community.
