Greetings, Columbia Community Church! Thank you for your gift to plant a church in Guatemala. Your generosity will impact children, their families, and the surrounding community for years to come. The church wants you to know they are grateful for you and hope to reach many children and members of their community. In this report, you will find updates on construction, a testimony from a church leader, and praises and prayer requests. In the photo above, a construction worker stands at the edge of the construction site.
Construction Progress
Great progress has been made on construction. Columns to support the building are almost complete, and construction workers are now leveling the ground where the kitchen and the bathrooms will be built.
Challenges and Opportunities
Recently, heavy rains and rocks in the land have made construction more challenging. However, the church thanks God that the flooding did not reach the construction site. They are encouraged to keep working hard.
Next Steps
In the next 60 days, the church is planning to finish adding the windows and doors and will be working on the side of the church sanctuary.
Church Activities
As construction continues, church attendees and community members have helped with widening the plot of land where the church sanctuary was built. Currently, there are 60 adults and 40 children who attend the church.
A Testimony From Church Leadership
“Mothers have shared their joy and happiness because of the help they are receiving. They have been given food packs and magazines and are witnesses to the community of the help the church is giving. One father is thankful that his son is part of the sponsorship program and says he and his family are interested in attending the church.”
Praises and Prayer Requests
The church community asks you to pray for the families affected by Hurricane Eta. Several families lost their homes and are staying in temporary shelters. They also ask you to pray for health and strength as they continue working on the construction site.
