Church Plant Update – September 2019

TrueNorth Church, we are excited to bring you an initial report from your church plant, Iglesia del Nazareno Taisha, in Ecuador. The church was promised a plot of land to build on but did not receive it, so a different plot (shown above) had to be found and purchased. But even with this obstacle, the church began serving the community and sharing the love of Jesus. The poverty rate in Taisha is over 90% and the church is already ministering to hundreds of children. Thank you for your support, prayers and patience as we help this new church launch and build a home. 

Construction Progress

The church will begin construction as soon as possible.

Church Activities

Currently, 300 adults and 200 children attend the church regularly.

We began by having meetings one Saturday each month where we talk about the love of God and His mercy.

We now have meetings every 15 days and will eventually have many meetings each week. This is a completely new community with regard to its maturity in understanding the gospel.

Although we do not have our own place built, we are carrying out the activities in a school and seeing lives changed by the gospel. In communities where we work, no doubt they already feel the love of Christ and the passion of the church leaders. We are working very hard to change the world-focused mentality and inspire community members to adopt the mentality of Christ.

 

Challenges Encountered

We have no challenges yet, thank God. We see opportunities for people to feel the love of God through the care we have for their children.

Next Steps

In the next 60 days, we will make new plans, obtain the necessary permits, buy materials and prepare the land.

Testimony of Impact

This has been a time of relationship building that has helped the community understand our credibility as the ministry and the church are just beginning. God is always faithful, and His word does not arrive empty. Many people have opened the doors of their homes, and others are looking for us to talk to them about Christ. Within their homes, we are beginning discipleship as a church-at-home until we can all meet together in our church.

We know that God loves the Shuar Achuar and Settlers people and He wants to transform their lives and change their mentality to that of Christ. We know that, thanks to your collaboration, we will soon have a space and will see a great revival with families and the community in general.
