Thank you for your continued, prayerful support of your church plant El Nazareno Church in the Tres Vías community of Mompiche, Muisne, Ecuador. In this latest report from the field, we learned progress on the construction project remains at a standstill beyond the church’s control but, as you know, a church is so much more than a building.
As noted in the previous update, the church has not been able to begin construction because of delays in finalizing the legal status of the land with the local municipality. In the meantime, construction workers that were scheduled to begin working on this project were instead directed to another church plant in Atacames.
Members of the church have been busy, however, clearing the site, shown above, in anticipation of having the land issue resolved for a March launch of the construction phase.
Even without builders at work, the leaders of El Nazareno Church have continued to serve, teach and minister to 140 children of the Tres Vías community over the last 60 days. As you can see in these new photos, the church is laying a true, Christ-centered foundation upon which to build.

We thank God the local church has been able to rent a site for a temporary child development center. It is not a finished building, but it has been a blessing. While we still don’t have the comfort of a new building, the children in attendance are happy:
