Stonebridge Christian Church, thank you for your investment to plant a new church in Nicaragua. The team at Mi Fortaleza is hard at work and eager to begin construction.
As church staff are praying and faithfully ministering in the community, the church is growing. Currently, 25 adults and 10 children are attending church services.
Current Status and Next Steps
Mi Fortaleza is based in an indigenous community with 1,160 residents in the city of Rivas. Through outreach, the church has identified more than 150 households with children experiencing extreme poverty. The new church and child development center will be a place of hope and refuge in the community.
The church was given a plot of land measuring 137 feet long by 82 feet wide. In recent months, staff from Compassion Nicaragua met with the church plant team and verified that the site is suitable for construction. The completed construction will include a multipurpose room, three classrooms, a kitchen and bathrooms.
In preparation for the start of construction, Pastor Dominga is mobilizing local resources and church members have started making bricks. Next steps include acquiring a building permit, running electricity to the site, leveling the land and building a retaining wall.

A Letter From Pastor Adela
Dear Friends,
I am Pastor Adela, from the mother church, Bethel Fuente de Santidad. I prayed and asked God to provide us with land to build another house of worship. One day, a church member wanted to buy land to build his house, and I went to see the land. The only thing going through my mind was “Every place where you set your foot will be yours,” (Deuteronomy 11:24). I observed another piece of land and I prayed that there would be a church there.
Shortly after, the owner of the property said he was going to give me a piece of land so we could build a church. I immediately told him the land that I wanted and he gave it to me. Three days later, he gave the church an additional plot of land to use as a park.
