Thank you, Riverbank Church, for your continued prayers for your church plant in the Totonicapán Department of Guatemala. We are excited to share this latest field report from Bethania Christian Family Church, Chonimatux in the hills of Barrio Santa Ana, Momstenagno. We hope you are as excited as we are to see progress at the church site. Soon it – and the community – will be transformed!
Construction Progress
Paths and steps have been built to connect each construction module.
We talked with a team of professionals to know the cost of prefabricated walls and the high resistance of pre-stressed columns. Using these materials will facilitate our work building classrooms, bathrooms and the kitchen. We have all the material in the construction area.
Church Activities
Currently, 35 adults and 15 children attend the church regularly.
Pastor Jose Hernandez continually supports and monitors the construction process.
Challenges Encountered
Lately we have had too much rain in the area, which has complicated the progress of the work.
Next Steps
In the next days we will be excavating and building the concrete floor surface, casting concrete columns and building the blockwork.
Testimony of Impact
As a church, we are amazed at how God has mobilized financial and human resources, for the construction of His work. People in the community, especially the women, provide their skills for the construction progress.
In addition, youth gather every weekend to evangelize in the area. We give all the glory to God.
