Greetings, Preston Trails Community Church! The team at Iglesia Roca Fuerte is making great construction progress and the church is growing. Pastor Rodolfo is motivated by the impact that the church is generating in the community. He says that the community is incredulous that a rocky and wooded site has become a child development center and a house of worship for families.

Construction Progress
The construction team is hard at work and their progress is evident. In the classroom and kitchen pavilion, foam thermal insulation was placed; a concrete floor slab was laid and a roof cover was installed.
Work in progress includes welding prior to placing gates and window grates. Workers are making progress in the construction of the sanitation block. 90% of the construction in the sanctuary is completed as shown in the photo below.

Challenges and Learning Opportunities
The supply of drinking water has been limited in recent weeks. Thankfully, neighbors and community members are supporting the church by providing safe water. The church team is impressed by the way local families recognize and respond to the needs at the construction site. The second challenge is that the ground is slightly sloped. The team has solved this issue by buying material for filling and compaction.
Next Steps
The work is nearly completed. Final tasks include building a sidewalk, removing rubble and waste, and fine cleaning.
Recent Church Activities
The church continues to grow, currently 40 adults and 60 children are attending. Within the last two months, three people have made professions of faith and two people been baptized.
Pastor Rodolfo has been in charge of surveillance to control access to the site and protect the construction materials and equipment. Pastor Allan from the mother church has organized fundraising activities to cover extra costs such as excavation for a sump pump to avoid flooding.
Suney is the mother of a participant in the Compassion center. She is joyful about the new church and child development program:
“My son participates in the Compassion program and the church. I am impressed by the way he talks about Jesus and his Bible classes. The buildings reflect that God is blessing the community and families. The children will have safe classrooms. They will be children who love their parents and in a few years, young people who follow Jesus.
Thank you very much for your work, love and commitment. I am happy because my son has received his first gift and letter from his sponsor. It shows us that God is helping us and attentive to our needs.”
