Construction Progress and Next Steps
The crown beams and reinforced steel were placed for the sanctuary, classrooms and the kitchen. Formwork and concrete pouring is in progress. Work is underway on the sanitation block and 85% of the walls are erected. 60% of the work is now completed.
During the next phase, workers plan to accomplish the following tasks:
- Install a metal roof.
- Assemble fences, gates and doors.
- Place ceramic finishes.
- Install sanitary fixtures and plumbing.
- Wire the buildings for electricity.
- Create sidewalks and gardens.
- Finish the final cleaning and delivery.

Challenges and Learning Opportunities
There have been several challenges during the construction process. These include the lack of drinking water at the site and a shortage of certified concrete blocks. Additionally, the Certificates of Compliance issued by the government expired in July, which caused delays. Thankfully, the legal representative of the IDPAN denomination applied to renew the certificates. The mother and daughter churches formed prayer groups and saw divine intervention after the certificates were quickly renewed.
Recent Church Activities
The pastors and members of the mother and daughter churches have volunteered to help with construction. Local parents have also helped. Celia is the mother of two children participating in the child development program. She says that her family and the community welcomed the Compassion program and the new church without knowing the huge impact it would have for their children.
Celia said, “Today, everyone in the community is learning about Jesus and people in the community gladly volunteer to help with construction.” Celia feels blessed by the investment that is being made. She explains that she has never seen a holistic child development program that fully supports children and youth and includes spiritual development. She is looking forward to the inauguration of the new facilities and she hopes it will be a great celebration. She sends her gratitude and prayers for those who contributed.

Praises and Prayer Requests
Pastor Rodolfo has great joy as he sees God blessing the impoverished families of the community through the new church and child development center. The church is sharing the gospel and the good news is received with welcome by the community.
The church asks you to join them in prayer for the following:
- Please pray for the health and wellbeing of the children who participate in the Compassion center. Pray for their families.
- Pray for the pastors and the leadership team. Ask God to give them wisdom to be good stewards.
- Pray for success in the next stages of the construction process and for the productivity, safety and skill of the workers.
