Greetings,
My name is William Gutiérrez Rojas, and I have been working with Compassion International as Nicaragua’s country director for nearly 15 years. Compassion’s Nicaraguan ministry began in 2002. We partner with local churches to help children understand that God loves them. We focus on reaching children who live in extreme poverty and need an advocate. Our vision and passion is to provide them developmental opportunities and equip them to be free from the chains of poverty.
After 20 years of ministry, many urban neighborhoods have improved because of the impact of our church partners and some governmental programs. Some of these churches can’t reach the poorest children, but they can move into the poorest areas and establish new places of preaching and children’s ministry.
As Compassion partners with local churches to reach the poorest children, we have implemented our “Extended Arm” strategy in these impoverished areas. Established partner churches (mother churches) can plant new daughter churches and transmit their vision, passion and experience in sharing the gospel – with a focus on Compassion’s holistic approach to serving vulnerable children.
The experience has been wonderful. More than 12 churches have been planted in Nicaragua, and the partnership is strengthened because of the mission and vision of both partners. Compassion and each local church have a common goal, achieving the church’s growth and reaching the poorest ones while extending the kingdom of God.
When we learned about your ministry and your mission of planting new churches, this brought us joy because for us this was a confirmation that we are under God’s will and He is providing the resources and capabilities to leverage this strategy – to accelerate and increase the results in an exponential way.
We hope this partnership will be a blessing for many children in our beloved country and that even though this is only starting, very soon it will become a successful experience that reaches many churches. Please be confident that our field office is very committed and passionate for these opportunities that you are providing.
Our hearts are grateful to all of you because you are the instrument to let us know that He is good and faithful all the time.
In Christ’s service,
William Gutiérrez Rojas
