Mission Hills Church, we are pleased to bring you an update on the progress of Kanisa la Biblia, the church plant you support in Ruvuma, Tanzania. The church plant is based in a village with a context of extreme poverty.
Thanks to your gift, the new church will be equipped with a worship hall, offices, seven classrooms, a kitchen, and restrooms. The church team and the community are looking forward to the finished construction.

Background
The mother church has partnered with Compassion Tanzania since 2018 and has impacted many children and their families. As the church began outreach in a new community, people responded to the message of salvation and the church plant was born. The new church is the result of Compassion’s strategy to expand into remote areas and release more children from poverty in Jesus’ name.
When the construction is complete, Kanisa la Biblia will be fully equipped to provide Compassion’s holistic child development program.
Construction Progress
- A roof was placed over the worship hall, attached staff offices and seven classrooms.
- Plastering is complete in the classrooms. Windows and doors are installed.
- The kitchen building is nearly complete.

- The septic tank is covered.
Next Steps
Workers plan to perform the following tasks in the worship hall and offices:
- Begin plastering.
- Install windows and doors.
- Lay flooring and paint the walls.
Other tasks planned include placing a roof over the kitchen and raising walls in the restroom block.
