Mission Hills Church, thank you for your gift to plant a new church in Tanzania. The new church, Kanisa La Biblia, is located in the Ruvuma Region of Tanzania. The region is named after the Ruvuma River (the second longest river in the country). Portions of the river form a boundary between Tanzania and Mozambique.
The church is based in a village of 7,754 people. Most homes in the area are made from mud bricks and have thatched roofs. Currently, 11 adults and 27 children are attending the church.
In the photo above, bricks are delivered to the construction site.
Construction Progress and Next Steps
In June 2022, construction activities began and the construction site was cleared. Other accomplishments include purchasing materials and transporting them to the construction site, drilling a well, and excavating the ground.
Next steps include purchasing more building materials and constructing classroom walls, the church hall and the kitchen.
Challenges and Learning Opportunities
The biggest challenges have been an increase in the cost of building materials and the lack of water at the construction site.
Recent Church Activities
The pastor helped clear the construction site and he is overseeing the construction project. The church is located in a Christian-minority community and the pastor is making home visits throughout the neighborhood. The pastor shares that the community is becoming more involved in activities at the center.
Praises and Prayer Requests

- Pray for Pastor Baraka.

- Ask God to give wisdom and strength to the mother church as they oversee the church plant during the implementation phase.
With Gratitude
