Greetings, Mission Hills Church! Thank you for your gift to construct a church building for Evangelical Church of Pilgrims of Peru. Your support is making an impact. The town in which the church is located has even decided to create a communal garden next to the church, since many will gather at the church who could benefit from fresh fruits and vegetables. In this report, you will find more updates on construction progress, next steps, a testimony from the mother of a child registered with Compassion, and prayer requests.

Construction Progress
The church facilities are now approximately 90% complete. Construction workers have:
- Added a roof over the building.
- Poured concrete floors.
- Placed windows and doors in frames.
- Installed plumbing and electricity.
The church would also like to announce their town has decided to create a communal garden next to the church. The garden will be 2,500 square meters in size and will contain vegetables and fruits that will benefit families in the community.
Challenges and Learning Opportunities
The church continues to face restrictions due to the pandemic that have affected their suppliers and workers. Suppliers were not able to deliver materials on time and workers were understaffed for a period. However, the church has also had the opportunity to share the gospel with people. The church reports that in these difficult times, people are more open to accepting the good news of salvation. The church has also learned that there are other methods and spaces that can be used to share the gospel and reach out to their community, including technology and home visits.
Church Activities
Currently, 15 to 20 adults and 15 to 18 children participate in church activities. The church praises God that six individuals have made first-time decisions to follow Jesus in the past 60 days! The pastor is ministering to the community via Zoom, telephone calls, and visits to homes in special cases. The church has also been involved in providing food for families during this time.
Next Steps
The construction team will proceed with finishing touches, including painting and lighting, over the next 60 days. When construction is done, they plan to hold a ceremony celebrating the beginning of their church. The church is also preparing to disciple new believers and will be developing a virtual discipleship program called, “Learning For Life.”
Testimony From Paula, the Mother of a Child Registered With Compassion
“The presence of the church in our community is of great help. The pastors have taught us how we should live as a family, as spouses, and with our children. This church is different, because it gives us both physical material and spiritual bread as we wait for the pandemic to end and as we wait to send our children to learn more about God and what is good for the future.”
