A Letter From a Caregiver at Iglesia Casa de Oración La Unidad
Dear Friends,
Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ. I am grateful to be part of this Survival program and want to thank all of you for helping make this program possible in my community.
Being a part of the program has greatly impacted my life and that of my baby boy. Through the program, I have learned many tips and techniques to better care for my baby. After he was born I had a difficult time breastfeeding. A nutritionist from the program showed me techniques to get him to feed and subsequently get my milk supply to come in. He now breastfeeds well and is healthy and happy.
The courses on health and nutrition are my favorite activities. These classes are led by a nutritionist, and provide helpful information on food preparation for my entire family. Sharing with other mothers is another highlight of the program for me. Getting to know other caregivers and their families is a huge blessing.
Thank you again for your generous support. I wish you many blessings this year and may God continue to bless all the caregivers and babies in my community.
May God bless you,Roxana

Survival Activities at Iglesia Casa de Oración La Unidad
All Survival programs have a holistic approach to caring for caregivers and babies. Therefore, as part of the program, caregivers attend workshops on cooking, crafts, and other skill building activities that can be used to lift families out of financial poverty. These activities are part of microenterprise training that help caregivers produce marketable goods that provide new ways to earn income for their households. Other classes include regular sessions on nutrition that provide helpful tips on preparing nutritious meals for caregivers and their families.
Home visits are convenient ways for caregivers and babies to receive one-on-one education and other benefits from trained Survival specialists. As an addition to classes and activities hosted in the church facility, home visits are an important aspect of a Survival program.
Both the church and the Survival program encourage healthy marriages and families and provide marriage workshops to strengthen these vital relationships.
