We are pleased to provide you with this update from the field on the substantial progress being made at your church plant, Iglesia del Nazareno de Cura Mori. They sent several pictures to show you how far the building has come and have plenty of details for you to read. Thank you for your support of this crucial work.
Construction Progress
We have started the fourth stage of the building, which includes:
- placement of doors and windows
- auditorium and classroom roofing
- painting
- ceramic installation
- final finishes
One of our master builders and his crew of six workers more are finishing the ceramic tiling work and auditorium and classroom painting. In the meantime, another master builder is in charge of the iron doors and windows installation.
The members of the church support the work day after day. In that way, they identify with the church and this, in turn, has led to church growth.
Church Activities
Cura Mori’s new children’s pastor is Marilú Pasapera. She has been with us for two months and is drawing up a growth plan for evangelism efforts that will reach out to parents of children registered at the child development center.
Currently, 30 adults and 50 children attend the church regularly.
The community sees the church as a place where they can find counseling, peace and help for their problems. That has allowed us to implement a visitation plan into children’s homes.
Challenges Encountered
So far, this project has been a great experience for each of us. It allows us to grow as leaders and develop our love for people.
Our challenge is to have an impact on the population not only as an evangelical church but also as a community of love that brings safety, health and protection to the children from Cura Mori. Through it, we will have the opportunity to extend the kingdom of God and contribute to the church’s growth.
Next Steps
- Painting of doors and windows
- Final finishes and general cleaning
- Inauguration of the project
- Beginning of work at the child development center
- Education opportunities for registered children’s parents
Testimony of Impact
In this short time, I have seen that Cura Mori is a village where settlers have a very liberal lifestyle. Many get drunk every day. Additionally, it is a village built on tradition, thus the education level is deficient.
My challenge is to do an evangelism work with children and parents. Also, I want to provide training to parents so that they can educate their children on principles, values and aspirations to escape poverty and their lack of training and knowledge. In that way, they will be educated and emotionally stable.

It is an honor for all of us to work with you. It is a privilege to be a part of your dream and help children from Cura Mori. We want you to know that we are praying for you so that God blesses your families and lives.
Prayer requests:
- Please pray for each of the children’s parents so that they send their children to the center and that they come to know Christ.
- Pray for Pastor Eduar Quispe and his family so that God continues blessing his ministry.
Thanks for the constant support we have received as a church through Compassion.
