Foothills Bible Church, thank you for your gift to plant Iglesia Cristiana Reformada in the Dominican Republic. Construction is moving along smoothly and God continues to draw people to this church.
As of this update, 150 children and 12 adults are impacted by your gift, and the church is already a vibrant presence in this community. We’re pleased to share recent progress with you in this report.
Construction Progress
After a few planning committee meetings, the church chose a master builder and their teams have been working hard. The church team used local resources to begin excavation of a well and hope to complete it soon, providing water access to the church and residents. In addition, the team has completed the following tasks:
- Excavated ground and poured concrete for some foundations.
- Installed columns and beams.
- Built cinderblock walls.
- Installed metal roof.
- Cleared brush.
- Purchased doors and windows.

Challenges and Learning Opportunities
The workers hope to install the doors and windows and complete the well. They continue to face challenges with road conditions, making the delivery of construction materials difficult. But, they have been able to hire more powerful vehicles to get the materials to the site to keep the project moving.
Site managers also decided to add extra roofing to properly cover the bathroom facilities and a water tank. Despite the high cost of materials and labor, the team is steadily progressing and makes every effort to save on materials where they can. They are grateful for your support.
Recent Church Activities
With generous contributions from the congregation and other local partners, the church has made several deliveries of food and medicine to community members in need. For Christmas, the church hosted an activity for registered children who enjoyed games, received gifts, clothes, toiletries and learned about Jesus’ birth.
They also hosted a camp with the children in the church, and the site provides meeting space for people to hear God’s Word. The church regularly gathers people, hosts celebrations and shares the gospel. They are a beacon of hope and light to children and their families in this poor community.
