Foothills Bible Church, the construction team at Iglesia Cristiana Reformada has made great gains since our last report. The church is located in the Monte Plata area of the Dominican Republic. Although the facility isn’t completed, the congregation is slowly increasing.
As staff minister in their community, lives are being changed. Currently, nine adults and 52 children are attending church services. Over the last two months, three people have made professions of faith. Please enjoy the following update to see the impact of your gift.
Construction Progress and Next Steps
Workers finished placing columns in December and then began building walls. They are currently setting beams and plan to place blocks at the lower beam level.
Challenges and Learning Opportunities
The road leading to the church is not paved and difficult to navigate, especially when it is muddy. Despite challenges, the team persists and continues making progress. Volunteers from the church have been generous in helping with the construction project.

Recent Church Activities
The church holds worship services under tarps in front of the construction site. They also hold Bible classes for local children as they await the launch of Compassion’s holistic child development program.
The pastor has been promoting the child development center and encouraging parents to register their children in the program. Church staff surveyed the community to find eligible children. The church and community participated in a special service where children were registered in the Compassion program. It was emotionally moving for all who participated.
Margarita is a local mother with three children. She and her family have many needs and they have been greatly impacted by the church’s ministry. The church has shared the gospel and demonstrated Christ’s love by delivering food to Margarita’s family. Margarita is growing in faith and she and her family are extremely grateful for the church’s presence in their community.
