Frisco First Baptist Church, we are so grateful for your gift to launch a new child development center at Light of Life Community Church in Cebu, Philippines.
The church is in an area of extreme poverty and serves a community of 21,000 people. Children who live in impoverished conditions face many challenges, and they are especially vulnerable to malnutrition, illness and abuse. Compassion aims to ensure every child who participates in our holistic child development program is known, loved and protected.
Church Priorities and Ministry Progress
Families in this community live on an average of $52 per month. Adults work primarily as day laborers and street vendors. A lack of job opportunities makes it difficult for caregivers to provide for their children. The church desires for families to have rich access to health care, education and spiritual nourishment.
Children have been registered, supplies purchased and staff hired. Participants will attend program activities for six to eight hours on Saturdays.
Light of Life Community Church prioritizes nutritious meals, medical checkups and cognitive development activities for all children participating in the program. Children and their parents are also hearing the good news of the gospel and growing in hope.

An Update From Compassion’s Partnership Facilitator

Dear Friends,
Warm greetings to you! I express my deepest gratitude and appreciation for your generous gift to our new church partner, Light of Life Community Church, to establish their new child development center.
Your support is transforming the lives of children living in extreme poverty in this coastal community. With your gift, the church has procured essential center supplies and equipment, trained leaders and staff, and started implementing vital programs for the children.
Staff members have completed participants’ initial health screenings, hosted orientation sessions for participants and parents, and organized an event to inform the community about the program. These initiatives have laid a solid foundation for our mission to empower and uplift the lives of children in Cebu.
Your belief in our vision has inspired us to work even harder toward our objectives. Your generosity will undoubtedly impact generations to come as we nurture the children’s potential, equipping them to grow into responsible and compassionate members of society. To strengthen families, the center also provides programs and activities for the children’s primary disciplers: their caregivers.

Recent Activities at Light of Life Community Church
Children at the child development center receive holistic support including nutritious meals, hygiene kits, and tutoring. Caring staff are deeply invested in helping children flourish in all aspects of their lives.
Compassion’s curriculum builds character traits such as empathy, integrity and resilience to inspire agency in youth. Children will have opportunities to dream, learn and grow where poverty would otherwise rob them of that potential.
