Thank you, Frisco First Baptist Church! Your gift to plant Truth and Life Baptist Church in Mexico is allowing children and their families to experience the love of Christ! In the photo above, a girl in the community shows church staff the chickens her family is raising.
This report includes updates on construction and church activities, prayer requests and a testimony from the church pastor.
Construction Progress
Construction workers continue to make great progress. They work with enthusiasm and commitment to the task at hand. Six classrooms have now been completed. Workers also added floors and installed electricity.
Challenges and Opportunities
The church decided to increase the number of construction workers in order to complete construction more quickly. Church members are selling food and desserts to raise funds to support the increased labor costs. Recently, they held a large bake sale where they raised enough money to reach their goal. They thank God for his provision and for the way he is working through people in the congregation who contribute time and financial resources.
Next Steps
In the next 60 days, the construction workers plan to:
- Paint the church walls.
- Install electricity in the dining room, kitchen and sanctuary.
- Add plumbing in the dining room, kitchen and bathroom.
- Make modifications to the church sanctuary.
- Begin finishing touches.
Church Activities
Currently, there are 160 adults and 80 children who attend this church. The pastor continues to disciple the church congregation, including new believers who have recently accepted Christ as their personal savior. As they grow in faith, they have expressed an interest in being baptized. The church hopes to hold a day of baptisms next month.
A Testimony From Timoteo, the Church Pastor
“Several very significant things have happened during this time. First, even though we have not been able to meet in person at the sanctuary during the pandemic, the church staff continue to serve enthusiastically. Second, the community has a lot of admiration for our dedication to construction even amidst the pandemic. A neighbor asked me how we are doing it since the economic situation is difficult. I shared that we are only instruments in the hands of God, who provides us with the resources to be a channel of blessing to our community. People are coming to know God as our provider. Third, the construction workers continue to be grateful to God, because of the support we have given them and their families during a time when they are unable to find work elsewhere. Finally, one of the new believers, a bricklayer, told us he was sharing the gospel with his neighbors and wanted to share more. One day, we accompanied him, and the whole family gave their lives to Christ. We thank God for the new believers who are already sharing their faith with others. We believe this is a very challenging time for the church, but we have seen the hand of God upon us.”
Praises and Prayer Requests
The church is thankful for your generosity that is having an impact on their community. They thank God for the opportunity to share the gospel, and they thank you for partnering with them in fulfilling the great commission.
The church asks that you pray for the following:
- Pray for relief from the pandemic in their city. The church hopes to resume in-person Sunday services after a nine month hiatus.
- Pray for success as they raise local resources to pay for additional construction workers.
- Pray for families facing heightened financial challenges in the midst of the pandemic.
- Pray for the care of the construction crew and volunteers, and pray that they would persevere in their belief.
- Pray for the project to be completed in a timely manner.
