Thank you, First Baptist Church Tulsa! Because of your generosity, children living in extreme poverty in Togo have access to life-changing services that help them thrive. We’re pleased to bring you a final report on your gift.
Currently, 139 children are participating in holistic childhood development activities at Shalom Child Development Center based at Eglise Apostolique du Togo. Your gift is equipping the church to care for vulnerable children.
Words of Gratitude From Pastor Kona
Dear Friends,
We greet you in the great and precious name of our Lord Jesus Christ. We express our gratitude to you for financially supporting the Shalom Child Development Center and for empowering us to help deliver our community’s children from poverty in Jesus’ name.
The church and Shalom center staff are joyful for our center launch, accomplished with the help of your gift. We have made improvements at the church. We bought a computer, two printers, a mobile router and a laptop for updates. We also purchased office tables and chairs, a file cabinet, and benches and blackboards for the classrooms. We bought kitchen utensils, office supplies, medical products and curriculum for the program.
All of these resources have enabled us to conduct the program every Saturday for the children. Without your support, all our efforts for the holistic development of children would not be as effective. We are committed to the program and children and promise to manage the facilities well by the grace of our Lord.
Once again, my team and I would like to thank you wholeheartedly for your support through Compassion International. May the Lord, the righteous judge, continue to bless you.
Sincerely,
Pastor Kona
Ministry Progress at Eglise Apostolique du Togo
The child development center has hired and trained staff, and programming is underway. Children participate in center activities for eight hours on Saturdays, where they receive nutritious meals, medical checkups and educational support. Participants are also learning about God’s love for them and growing in hope. Pictured below are recent events that took place at this center.
An Interview With Guyane
Guyane is a 9-year-old participant at this center. She lives 300 meters from the center and walks to get there.
At the center, she most enjoys playing with her friends and learning new things, including songs and Bible verses.
When she grows up, she wants to be a doctor. Thank you for supporting Compassion participants like Guyane.
