Thank you, First Baptist Church Tulsa! Your support to launch a new child development center at Lemblisong Southern Baptist Church in the Philippines makes it possible for children to reach their full potential. Because of you, 100 participants are receiving holistic care from staff who deeply care for their physical, emotional and spiritual well-being. Your gift is truly transformative!
Since our last update, we’re pleased to report that program activities have begun and are going well, the center has conducted medical and educational assessments for each child, and 25 of the children in the program have been sponsored.
Words of Gratitude From Pastor Jovannee
Dear Friends,
Greetings in the precious name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
I am writing to express my deepest gratitude for your gift to launch our child development center. Most of our children are Indigenous and have many needs; so your gift is helping the most vulnerable children in our community.
There are no words to describe how grateful we are for your support. You are genuinely a conduit of blessing, assisting our children to become the kind of people who will make themselves, their parents and our neighborhood proud.
We, as a church, believe that there are still many people in need of hearing the good news of Jesus. As we reach more people, we are working to renovate our building to accommodate its growing membership. Additionally, we continue planting churches throughout the region and building up pastors for these daughter churches through a training program at our Bible school. Currently, there are 22 students in this program.
We are thankful and excited for the ways God has showered us with his blessings. And we hope and pray that he showers his blessings upon you as well. Thank you again, from the bottom of my heart.
Kindly,
Pastor Jovannee
Ministry Progress
Because of your gift, this child development center is fully equipped to offer Compassion’s child development program. Participants and their families receive life-changing support for mind, body and soul. Pictured below are a few photos of recent activities facilitated by the center.
An Interview With Aprilyn, a Caregiver
Aprilyn is the mother of Drianna, a 2-year-old participant at this center. She shares that her family’s health has dramatically improved because of the resources they have through the center, such as medical checkups, nutritious foods and vitamins. Aprilyn also benefits from emotional, economic and spiritual support from center staff members.
She most enjoys learning alongside other caregivers and building positive relationships in her community. In Drianna’s sponsor, Aprilyn feels she has gained a friend or family member who supports her as she helps her child realize her dreams.
