Thank you, First Baptist Church Tulsa! We are so glad you’ve joined us in helping children in poverty in Khulna, Bangladesh. Thanks to your generous support, 175 children will receive holistic care from trained staff who support their physical, emotional, social and spiritual health. Your gift removes obstacles that hinder their futures.
The center is located in a community of 7,500 people that lacks safe drinking water and is two hours away from the nearest medical facility. 40% of adults are unemployed. Those with jobs typically work as day laborers, plantation workers and fishers. Families live in homes with dirt floors, tin walls and tin roofs. Though children in this area face many challenges, your gift makes it possible for them to flourish in spite of their circumstances.
Helping Children Grow to Be All God Intends
The partners we work with are experts in healthy child development. The program activities encourage healthy growth — physically, socially, emotionally — and children are invited to participate early in their lives when the program can benefit them most.
Tailored according to age, gender, health, culture and family situations, the programs change as children’s needs change. Against the context of poverty, the nurturing environment at the child development centers foster self-reliance, resilience and a spirit of service. Children are equipped to develop good character and achieve a fulfilling life.
Initially, the child development center plans to hire and train staff, make appropriate building modifications to accommodate program activities, purchase the necessary office equipment and classroom furnishings, conduct health assessments for registered children and acquire learning materials.
Thank You
