We praise God that we are able to share this final report from your fully operational church plant in Haiti, the Nazarene Church of Dame. The community has embraced the church, and local government officials are thrilled to see the development opportunities made possible by the generous, loving people at Tulsa’s First Baptist Church. May the Lord bless you as you have blessed Dame!
Construction Progress
The construction of all the buildings is finished. The buildings were inaugurated on January 27, 2019.
Church Activities
Currently, 116 adults and 95 children attend the church regularly.
The church leaders were fully involved in the inauguration activities, including Pastor Bequel Cherelus, who said this during the inauguration of the buildings: “The conditions of the place where we used to worship God before the construction of this new church were very inappropriate. So we said we would rely on God to provide to our needs. Our faithful God has wonderfully chosen Compassion International to help us to build this temple. To God be all the glory! We hope that God continues to richly bless Compassion International and its supporters.”
Challenges Encountered
The main challenge the church leaders are facing is to mobilize local resources to continue to build other classrooms after the implementation of this project.
Next Steps
The church leaders plan to continue to clean and to reinforce the security of the church’s yard and to provide materials and equipment for the church and the school.
Local Leaders’ Testimonies of Impact
I am so surprised to see these buildings here in Dame. It’s good to thank Compassion’s donors for their contributions in the development of this community. I did not know these buildings, which respect construction standards, were already built in Dame. Thanks and congratulations!
– Mrs. Elina Massillon, one of the leaders of the community who attended the inauguration of the buildings
The story of the locality of Dame is like a kind of obstacle to its development. Life is very difficult there. This moment is the opportunity for Dame to be developed with the presence of Compassion International beside the Nazarene Church. We thank the donors and Compassion for their services in this community, for the church, the school and the child development center.

Praises and Prayer Requests
The church leaders hope God will continue to use the donor church to accomplish other projects, particularly in the ministry of Compassion International.
The church leaders would like to continue to pray that God continues to protect the donors wherever they will be and to use them like instruments in His hand to bless others.
They would appreciate your prayer for their capacity to organize activities that can holistically develop the children in the community.
