We are thrilled to share with you this latest report from your church plant in Haiti, the Nazarene Church of Dame, where construction efforts are nearing completion.
Construction Progress
All the buildings are finished: the church, cafeteria, school and restroom facility. They have not yet been painted.
Church Activities
Currently, 116 adults and 95 children attend the church regularly.
In the last 60 days, seven people made first-time professions of faith in Christ.
The church members are involved in the work by:
- contributing to fill in the floor of the church with sand and other materials
- providing food and water for the workers
Challenges Encountered
The main challenge the church leaders are facing is to mobilize local resources to continue to build other classrooms after the implementation of this project.
Next Steps
- Paint the buildings
- Clean the yard of the church and reinforce its security
- Inaugurate the buildings
Testimony of Impact
Dame is a remote area that needs to be developed. The existing churches in the community don’t have appropriate infrastructure or organizational structure. These buildings will be useful for this community. Many parents are happy they can attend church outside of work hours. This community needs to be evangelized, and this church will allow them to do so.
– Elson Cadet, director of the child development center
Praises and Prayer Requests
The church leaders continue to pray that God blesses the donors abundantly.
They would appreciate your prayers so they can continue to serve God and be instruments in God’s hand to transform this community.
The are thankful beyond words to the donors. They are so delighted because the donors allow them to realize a dream for this community which they first had 34 years ago.
