Thank you, First Baptist Church Tulsa, for partnering with Compassion International to reach more people with the gospel and bring the hope of Jesus to children and families living in extreme poverty in Haiti. By partnering with us to plant a new Church in Haiti, you are acting as a catalyst to help a local church create a deeper presence of ministry in their community. This new church building gives them capacity to offer Compassion’s holistic child development program to children in need.
Compassion International highly values our partnerships — both with funding partners like you, and our implementing partners in the countries where we work. We strive to live out our Partnership Principles in how we partner with you and each new local church established in a child’s community.
Compassion’s Partnership Principles
- Founded on our identity in Christ
- Seeks mutually beneficial and respectful relationships
- Accepts mutual responsibility and commitment
- Produces visible transformation and outcomes
With every new church planted with Compassion in developing countries, our local staff members work closely with an existing (or “mother”) church partner, to pursue a mentorship approach that will help the new (or “daughter”) church quickly grow strong. We encourage local resource mobilization and ownership across the board. We aim for this not only in the initial construction of the church plant infrastructure you have helped fund, but also in the ongoing program implementation of the child development center.
Like any relationship, laying a foundation for mutually beneficial partnerships takes time. We appreciate your understanding as our staff members and local church partners work hard in the coming weeks and months to make next steps a reality. We commit to update you along the way as the construction process forNazarene Church of Basquin continues and evolves towards its launch and simultaneous opening of their child development center.
Because of you, the Body of Christ in Haiti is now mobilized to expand the Kingdom and help more children be known, loved, protected and discipled towards a hopeful future. Thank you again for investing in this opportunity where we anticipate God’s Church positively affecting the lives of vulnerable children and releasing them from poverty in Jesus’ name.
