We are grateful for the opportunity to present you this initial field report on the construction project and the growth in the body of Christ at your church plant, Emmanuel Church Turbito in Turbot, Montero, Santa Cruz, Bolivia.
Construction Progress
- The community is increasingly supportive of church activities and the construction project.
- Several of the parents organized shift work to help with the construction.
- Some of the mothers are also helping by bringing food to those who are working on the building.
- We have built all the walls and support columns on the ground floor and have begun work on the roof.
- The building project is 30 percent complete.
Church Activities
Since we started to work with Compassion, child attendance has increased from 20 to 80, and the number of adults grew from 10 to 26. In the last 60 days, there have been six professions of faith in Christ.
Services take place at the house of one of the church elders on the following weekly schedule:
- Sunday: Morning Sunday school and evening evangelistic service.
- Tuesday: Bible study.
- Thursday: Prayer meeting.
- Saturday: Worship service.
Challenges Encountered
The biggest challenge we faced since the beginning of the construction was the lack of water. We did not have enough water to carry on with the work. But thanks to God, one of the men from the church who works drilling wells came to drill one and gave all of his work as a gift.
Next Steps
Finish securing the rebar and pour the concrete for the floors in the chapel.
Testimony of Impact
My son likes attending activities at the child development center because children are well tended. All the staff members there work with much love. The center helped me know more about the Lord Jesus and build better relationships with the brothers and sisters in Christ.
The construction of the church and center in my neighborhood, called El Paraiso, makes me very happy because I’ll be able to go there to learn God’s Word with my family. Every day I pass by, I see that the workers are progressing fast with the building.
Thank you for helping us. This will be a great help to all those in the neighborhood since the Gospel of God is being preached. The tutors at the center will make good disciples of the Lord out of my children. And the sisters in the kitchen feed the children very well, so they can grow healthy and strong, because we know that our bodies are God’s temples – that’s what the Bible says.

Praises and Prayer Requests
We want to share that the brothers and sisters are happy, joyfully working in the construction of the new church.
We are thankful for the support we’ve received, which allows us to see the church rise and grow more and more. Right from the beginning, we knew that our work for the Lord is not in vain.
We need help in prayer for more children and their families to come to serve the Lord at the new church building.
Please pray for the church and the leadership to grow stronger.
