Greetings, Emmanuel Baptist Church! Thank you for your gift to launch a child development center in Sri Lanka. Your generosity is providing holistic child development and hope for 175 children living in extreme poverty.
The child sponsorship program provides comprehensive care complete with access to health care and nutrition, cognitive growth through developmental activities and tutoring, and recreational activities that build self-confidence and social skills.

A Message From the Local Partner
Warmest greetings to you from our entire center. Throughout the last year, we provided food items for local children, families and pregnant mothers in areas of extreme poverty. Through these interactions, we get to know the families, their needs and make them aware of our program.
We have also been able to hire program staff from the community, providing employment opportunities and stable income for local families.
We cannot thank you enough for partnering with us to give children brighter futures. We are sincerely grateful to you, and the local Compassion International staff, who have worked with us and helped us make this center a reality.
Children Thrive in a Loving Environment
Compassion’s curriculum builds character traits such as empathy, integrity and resiliency to inspire agency in youth. Children will have opportunities to dream, learn and grow where poverty would rob them of that potential.
A young participant at the center says, “I love coming to the program to eat nutritious meals, play with my friends and learn from my tutor. When I grow up, I want to become at teacher!”
