Emmanuel Baptist Church, thank you for your gift to launch a new child development center in Sri Lanka. Because of your support, children at this center now have the opportunity to receive holistic care from trained staff who support their physical, emotional, social and spiritual health.

Program Priorities
The center is located in in a rural fishing town of 7,200 people. Due to the context of extreme poverty, children are very vulnerable and there are high rates of malnutrition and child mortality. Child marriage is common, parents primarily work as day laborers and fisherman, and school-age children begin working at a young age to support their families.
Through the new child development center, the team plans to:
- Train caregivers on income-generating activities.
- Provide quality educational support and healthcare for particpants.
- Release children from poverty.

Program Progress
The child development center is fully operational and 172 children attend the program on the weekend. The center has hired and trained staff, purchased curriculum materials and modified the facilities to meet program needs. Pictured below is a group photo of the dedicated staff who lead this center.
