Thank you, Creekside Christian Church! Your gift to plant Iglesia del Nazareno la Gloria de Dios is making it possible for the church to share the gospel with 152 children, their families and their community. Families in need are experiencing God’s love as they are served by church staff. Thank you for supporting such a life-changing mission!

Implementation Progress
The church has completed the following steps in the implementation process:
- The church received funds and completed paperwork in August 2019.
- The church completed assessments to better understand the needs of families in their community in August 2019.
- Children were registered for Compassion programming.
- The church began planning construction, but the pandemic caused a delay.
- Construction began in December 2020. Construction workers started by laying a foundation.
- Next, construction workers built support columns, walls, and the floor and roof of the church sanctuary.
- Workers constructed the bathrooms, dining room, kitchen and two playrooms.
- Completed construction includes an auditorium, two furnished classrooms, bathrooms, a kitchen and dining room.
Next steps include plastering and painting the sanctuary, dining room, bathrooms and kitchen.
Challenges and Learning Opportunities
The church shared that though they started with only 10 members, God has opened many doors. They have learned that amazing things are possible one step at a time. This is helping them trust God with each stage of the construction process. The church has also learned how to work together as a team. The leadership team has persevered through many challenges as a new church.
Impact of the Intervention
The newly planted church has allowed children to have a safe place to go where they can receive holistic care. The church facilities will include a sanctuary, two classrooms, bathrooms, a kitchen and a dining room.
During the pandemic, the church also reached many people with the gospel. They prioritized being a spiritual support. Church staff were trained virtually on how to help people cope with anxiety and how to help children excel in their schoolwork. Church staff delivered baskets of food to families each month and provided children with school assignments.
So far, the church has shared the gospel with 152 participants in the program, has 81 additional adults in their database and is leading eight couples through couple’s school. Caregivers are invited to attend Sunday meetings where they received information on child protection and can also participate in income-generation workshops. Children have access to free medical checkups and treatments.
Members of the church participate in fundraising activities. They also volunteered to help with construction and provided materials.
The community has witnessed that the church’s faith in God leads them to love others with their words and actions.
