Calvary Chapel Cheyenne, thank you for partnering with Compassion to plant a new church in Bolivia. The new church, Roca de la Fe, is located in a small community in Cochabamba. Although construction hasn’t started, the church is growing and 24 people recently made professions of faith!
In the photo above, church members build a temporary shelter that serves as a gathering place.
Initial Update
Currently, 40 adults and 96 children are attending the church. The church offers Bible classes for children, youth and adults on Saturdays. Church staff and volunteer teachers lead the classes. The church is committed to sharing the gospel throughout their community.
In preparation for the start of construction the following work has been completed:
- A construction committee was formed to oversee the work.
- The site was measured and cleaned.
- A pole was installed so that the church will receive electricity
- Volunteers created a perimeter wall with plastic bottles.
- A temporary structure was created as a place to gather for worship.
- The church held fundraising activities to cover the cost of labor.
Next steps for the team include contract signing with a master mason, excavation work for the column footings, and chaining and lifting the columns with iron. The church is looking for a bricklayer who will work within their budget.

Pastor America of the mother church shared how she sees God at work through the church plant:
“It is impressive to see how God’s work is growing; he directed us to this community, where we are ministering to 180 children and youth. The mother church will continue to work and teach the new members of the daughter church, which we love so much.”

The team expresses gratitude that they have a plot of land, for the support of the mother church and for the skilled staff who minister to local families. They ask you to join them in prayer and send a list of their requests:
- Pray for successful fundraising so that the church can pay the teachers and construction professionals.
- Pray for the spiritual growth of the children and adults who attend the Bible School.
- Ask God to give strength to the members of the mother church who are helping to establish this church plant.
