Awaken City Church, your continued support of babies and their mothers at Iglesia Nacional Presbiteriana Puerta del Cielo in Chiapas, Mexico is transforming lives and paving the way to a brighter future. Currently, 14 participants and their caregivers are benefitting from this Survival program.
Because of your generosity, babies are beginning their lives as treasured members of the Compassion family. For many years to come, they will have the opportunity to benefit from a wide range of benefits, including access to medical care, educational support and regular nutritious meals. Compassion and its church partners are committed to caring for them throughout childhood and into adolescence, until they are ready to spread their wings as independent adults.
Likewise, the new mothers are starting down a road that leads to a better life. They are learning useful new skills, building supportive friendships with other mothers, and experiencing Jesus’ transformational love. Thanks to you, they are being empowered to create an environment where their beautiful baby will thrive.

Words of Gratitude From a Caregiver
Dear Friends,
Greetings from Chiapas! My family and I live with my in-laws and I work at home while I care for my son. At this time, it’s too difficult to have our own house because our income is low and work is scarce. When my husband does find work, he barely earns enough to cover food and basic needs.
We decided to join the Survival program because we saw other mothers and children benefiting physically and spiritually. Since we joined, our health has improved. I have learned how to feed my baby well, we receive medical checkups, and I changed my hygiene habits to avoid illnesses.
Survival has been a great blessing to me and my family. I’ve learned how to take care of my baby, not only physically but emotionally. Through the Survival program, I have learned how to protect my child and about the importance of showing them love so that they grow up whole and secure.
My family and I now attend the church. The Survival program taught me to pray for my family and for my children and about the importance of approaching God and reading his Word. Please pray for my family and my baby. Bless you for your support!

Survival Program Spotlight: Delivery Care
The health of mothers and newborns is intricately related. Because of this, Compassion church partners provide prenatal care to give expectant moms and their babies the support they need for a safe and healthy birth. Mothers are able to attend prenatal medical appointments, when in the past they could never have considered such an expense. They also receive transportation to their local health center or hospital so they can keep those appointments. If their pregnancy has proceeded smoothly, skilled birth attendants guide and support them through the birthing process. Mothers who develop complications are connected to advanced medical care (including surgery, if necessary). After the babies arrive, the program gifts the new moms with baskets full of hygiene supplies and newborn necessities. All of this is possible through your generous giving!
