Greetings, Awaken City Church! Thank you for your generous gift to launch the Survival program at Linaje de David Child Development Center, based at Iglesia Nacional Presbiteriana de Mexico A.R. in Chiapas, Mexico. Currently, 15 babies and their mothers are receiving holistic care from trained staff who support their wellbeing and development. You are giving babies a brighter, more hopeful future.

Reaching a Community in Need
The community where the Survival program is being launched has a population of 2,000 people. Mothers and babies face many challenges, including lack of medical care for pregnant women and newborns, a high prevalence of diarrhea, fever, cough and scabies, lack of education for caregivers and high rates of unemployment. The average household income is equal to $119 per month.
The Survival program will help families overcome these challenges. Mothers and their babies will receive nutritious food and supplements to prevent malnutrition. They will also have access to medical care. Caregivers will have the opportunity to attend income-generation workshops where they learn skills to help them provide for their families. In addition, children and their parents will be able to attend Bible studies, participate in prayer meetings and learn more about God’s unconditional love.
A Testimony From Mayeli, the Mother of Julia
“My baby, Julia is four months old. Her health has greatly improved thanks to the Survival program. Survival staff teach us about nutrition and healthy hygiene habits. I have learned how to take good care of my daughter and how to be attentive to her needs. I enjoy when the Survival Specialist visits me in my home. She brings us baby supplies, and we do activities together. Because of the Survival program, I know that everything will be fine and that my baby and I will have support.”

A Letter From Pastor Samuel
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
I greet you in the precious name of our Lord Jesus Christ. My name is Samuel. I am a humble servant of the Lord, working for the glory of God.
Last night, I was reading a book that talked about the church’s responsibilities in our broken world. Historically, we see that the church created educational institutions and hospitals, playing an important role in society. Today, we continue to serve our neighbors and offer great support through our programs.
The impact of the Survival program is already a great blessing. We are located two hours inside the jungle, traveling by car. Our church is reaching a total of 215 children through the sponsorship and Survival programs. All of these children will receive an education, medical care, nutritional support, discipleship and home visits. We want them to know of God’s great love. We also offer Bible studies to families.
Our great commitment is to reach more families so they can grow in biblical love and kindness toward their children. We hope this will lead to a society that is also more loving and kind. We appreciate all of your support. You are in our prayers.
