Greetings, Agoura Bible Fellowship! We are pleased to present to you the first report from your church plant, Iglesia Bautista Misionera located in the province of Quillacollo, Cochabamba state, Bolivia. Currently, 40 adults and 50 children attend church services, and 10 adults accepted Jesus as their Savior. Included in this report is an update on construction progress, church activities, a testimony from the project director and much more. Thank you for your support, and please continue to pray for this church and community.
Construction Progress
The community where the church will be built is called Kenamari Q’ullku. The property is 3,633 square feet and is registered under the name of the mother church’s foundation, Fundacion la Verdad. The land documents were signed by Wilder Cesar Guarachi Quispe, a legal representative of the foundation and Juan Torres Suzaño, a representative of the church committee.
The church formed a special building commission with church leaders and project staff that will lead and manage the construction project. This commission has participated in OTB (Base Territorial Organization) meetings to explain to community leaders the objective of the new church.
The church hosted a festival to raise local resources in support of the building project. Additionally, the church organized a campaign so that church members could symbolically purchase square meters of the church land, and they receive a card recognizing their contribution. This campaign will effectively pay for the land.
Challenges Encountered
The church has faced three main challenges:
- Assembling the building commission
- Local support and resources for the church plant effort
- Approving the building measurements to determine the quantities of construction material needed to be purchased
Next Steps
The church will host a time of prayer and fasting to thank God for the support received to build the church plant. Also, the building commission will hire professionals to approve the construction plans and take a step closer to starting construction.
Church Activities
During the last two months, the church has:
- Facilitated a time of prayer and fasting
- Held special services with children in the community
- Conducted door-to-door evangelism
- Hosted a meeting with the building commission
Testimony of Impact
Project director, Modesto Fuentes Rios shares about the impact of this new church plant:
My goal has always been to create a place to help those in the greatest need and spread the gospel to unreached places. Despite some doubts, this dream is coming true. Some years ago, we tried to plant a church in the Esquilan community, but we had to discontinue that initiative. Now, after several attempts, we have found property in Kenamari Q’ullku and we are moving forward with planting this church. We are overjoyed for the support we have received, and we thank God for His provision for his church.
Praises and Prayer Requests
The church asks for your prayers that God will continue to provide the local resources and support needed for the church plant.
The congregation of Iglesia Bautista Misionera Kenamari would like to share the following with you:
We are very thankful for your support of our dream to plant this church. Thank you and may you always have a heart to help churches in need.
